Been using this for a year and a half now, and very pleased overall.
Note, this is my first business class PC, so I do not have any experience with similar machines and cannot provide an adequate comparison.
Only problem was a faulty screen - started as a vertical line of pixels over one of the lid hinges, then with time multiple lines developed over each lid hinge until it was impossible to read text directly below the lines. Replacement was very quick (about a week), and there has been no problem afterwards.
What I really like about it:
- The keyboard - very convenient and sturdy, PgUp and Dn nicely laid out next to arrow keys. I am not missing any keys, and there are none redundant; FnLk works fine (once you deactivate it, you use all the F's and forget about it). CapsLock no LED - not a big issue for me, since when Caps is ON, the indicator on the screen will literally poke your eyes out, no way to miss it.
- The touchpad - I was a bit put off from all the negative reviews about it, but coming from a consumer type notebook, I fell in love with it. It is large enough to provide a nice range of movement, and the double-finger right click gesture is marvelous. Not a trackpad user, so I cannot really comment on that;
- Size - it is sturdy, but still compact enough. I find the 14 inch screen more than adequate.
What I don't like:
- Power cable connects to the back of the machine - I would prefer it to the left;
- When I switched to Win10, I lost the fan booster functionality, which I think was quite nice;
- Keyboard LED's can be quite bright when you are not standing squarely above the keyboard.

The machine it self is good. My main grip with it is the fingerprint reader driver has stopped working twice. It was difficult to find the fingerprint reader driver on the support website. Otherwise I have happy with the laptop.

The new Lenovo trackpad took some getting used to, however once you understand how it works it is quite intuitive. the trackpoint however is difficult to use because of the single button trackpad. the modification to add the buttons back to this unit is not difficult, however in my opinion the new trackpad is actually very productive and worth getting a feel for. Excellent performance with the intel I7 4800MQ and 8gb of ram, has not failed to please me yet. This is a very sturdy and durable feeling machine. The keyboard is fantastic and has good feedback for the user. I was initially upset that the function keys were converted to being media keys but after reading about the keyboard, hitting function and ESC locks the media keys to the function purpose.
I am 100 percent for the new design and I am very happy with this computer! I would recommend it.
